20 years ago, a strange disturbance opened up in the world that the populace have deemed, “The Rift.”

The Rift resembles an eerie blue fault line that strikes through the most densely populated areas in the world. It comes and goes, never hitting the same city twice. Many curious citizens have wandered inside, some people simply wanting to escape their daily lives and search for something truly amazing on their journey. One can enter the Rift as long as one passes through an entry point, however, finding an exit inside proves more difficult. Another way one can leave is via keys that allow exit, however, they are very rare and sought after. 

Going in without one is very dangerous, you may never see the light of day again.

 

You, the protagonist, have carried one of these keys for as long as you can remember. It was apparently a memento of your parents and has sat untouched for the last 2 decades.

You always yearned to explore the Rift, never thinking you would get another chance since the Rift had already gone through your city, and it was near impossible to predict where it would spread next. It felt like an impossible dream, a silly idea chasing after parents you didn't even know. Why did they have that key? What really happened to them?

 

You thought these questions would never go answered, until one fateful night the Rift opened back up in your city, the ghostly blue light taking over the city once more.

 

After many nights overlooking the lightning-like fault zig-zagging through the city just outside your window, you give yourself an ultimatum. You take off work and swear to yourself to only go one week, and if you find yourself in too much danger or the week rolls over, you will immediately go home using your ticket.

 

Packing everything you need in your trusty bag, the week begins. What you find in the Rift may very well change your life forever…
